Just bought the soundtrack to the Godfather trilogy and the Jean de Florette soundtrack both on CD. They’re awesome. if you’re thinking “Why would anybody buy such things on CD” it’s because downloading is bad. But I dont think that thanks to that stupid downloading advert that they put at the begining of EVERY single DVD (the really fucking annoying one that you can’t skip that has the fucking annoying music that makes me want to kill myself). I just don’t like downloading. I’d rather waste money. If I wasn’t one of these “ownership” freaks then I would spend every second of the day downloading stuff just to prove how much I hate that shit advert and how it doesn’t make me want to not download free stuff atall.
I also Just bought the film/documentory “Baraka” by Ron fricke. it’s absolutly amazing. it’s basiclly different shots from around the world put with an amazing soundtrack. the photography is absolutly breathtaking – I reccommend it to any pessimistic person who thinks the world is shit and all that jazz. It’ll brighten you up. I guarantee it

Just watched this the other day because I’ve been feeling in a french film mood lately. Directed by Claude Berri It’s mainly a story of greed and human qualities.
Ugolin and Papet try to drive their new neighbor Jean de florette away from his farm in order to “inherit” his water source so they can water their flowers and sell them. Before Jean (Gérard Depardieu) moves in they block up his water source so he has to travel a long way in the boiling weather to water his crops. but it starts affecting his health and he and his family are running out of money fast.
I thought the film was amazing in most aspects. The character development stands out especially well. For the first 30 minutes of the film I was on the side of Ugolin and Papet and wanted them to win in the end. until I realised how far their greed was taking them and how bad they actually are. Gerard Depardieu done a superb job. you really start to feel for Jean (Depardieu) because he is genuinely a good person and doesn’t even suspect anything is going on which is why I felt as bad for him as I did. Personally i think Daniel Auteuil won the prioze for best performance though.
The scenery and photography are also worth mentioning. both combined are amazing, it was just beautifuly done and makes you feel like it’s another world.
All in all it’s a wonderful film Certainly up there with amelie. I intend on buying the sequal “Manon of the spring” ASAP.
I reccommend this film pretty much to anybody who doesn’t mind subtitles. if you do mind subtitles then you’re bent.
I give it 9.2 reubs out of 10 and it has probably shoved its way into my top ten

Ok, ready?, here we go. For those of you reading this who don’t know my name. My name is Reuben. I’m a university student studying Media Production at Cumbria Institute of the Arts. Why you ask? well….I dont exactly know. but it has something to do with my love for T.V and film (watching, making, talking about, buying et cetera)
I made this “website bloggy thingy” because I am bored. But thats not the only reason, NO NO. The other reason I made this “website bloggy thingy” is because over summer I intend to make a film diary of all the films I intend to watch, buy, own et cetera to share with you (and by “you” I mean “me”). I am doing that also because I am bored.
And because I’ll probably end up having very little human contact during the summer I will probably end up writing other random, pointless, useless crap on here too. Because I am a big stupid nerd
Caio for naio
